Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Two of her earliest television appearances were as Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed the character. Her parents, however, didn't want her to perform until she turned an adult fearing the effect of stress. Perry was a shy teenager and was not a performer. She began acting at Northwestern University to gain friends as she transferred from Boston University. Perry started her acting career in New York after graduation, landing minor role on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, the feeling of homelessness made Perry go back to California to work as a stage actress. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway along with her mother. Kevin McKidd, her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer prize-winning film Anna Christie together with her in the year 2015. Perry played a lead role in nine episodes of the ABC drama The Family. Perry was also featured in the role of a political thriller Scandal alongside her father. That same year she played a young character based on Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory), portraying her mother in a youthful version. She was cast in the role by auditioning for an open role despite having a connection to this role.
